Take a trip with your family form your old house to your new one. This allows everyone a chance to see and explore the new home, as well as making the final move in a little more comfortable.

Pre-arrange services such as phone and utilities so there are no surprises when you move in.

Give everyone in the family a responsibility or chore to accomplish on moving day.

Ensure everyone (especially small children) are safe and accounted for on moving day.

If you have pets, make arrangements for them so they don't have to be worried about on moving day.

In advance, preprea and pack necessites in a bag. Store it under the front car seat or somewhere easy to access. You'll want this available for your first night in your new home.

Make a plan for feeding your group on the first night in your home. If necessary, scout out a restaurant or make reservations in advance.

Consider having a gift for the family waiting for you when you arrive in your new home. It could make for a pleasant and fun surprise to help welcome everyone!
